    1. Start from the top on a dry coat.

      Even pressure and short, repeated strokes in the direction of the coat. Many animals find it feels like being scratched.

    2. Take one area at a time.

      Work your way across the body. When the comb fills up, pull the fur off with your fingers.

    3. Adapt to the coat length.

      Short, repeated strokes work on most coats – on long-haired dogs, use slightly longer strokes.
